As it’s Friday I thought I’d pick another ‘banger’. I love this band. I don’t know if it’s all to do with David Axelrod (even though he only made a couple of the later albums, which ended breaking the band up) or not, but I can’t get enough of The Electric Prunes. Oh and they were on the Easy Rider soundtrack. What’s not to love eh?
The music they make is a mixture of rock and classical, but with a splattering of psychedelica. Some of sounds a bit dated now, but it hasn’t lost any of its power (which a lot of songs from that have).
I won’t go into details about the history of the band and how they formed, made it big, imploded and reformed, as that would ruin it for you. But it is a great story (come on Hollywood, sort it out).
