26/02/2016 – Carlton-Record (2016)

Carlton gets the weekend going with a slice of techno infused filth!

As its Friday and the weekend is a few hours away, I thought I’d breakout something to get us in the mood. Some songs are made to be played quietly. Some songs are meant to be played in the background. And other songs are meant to be played on massive soundsystem’s in tiny dark sweaty rooms. Record, but French producer Carlton is one of these!

There isn’t a great deal going on here that hasn’t been done before. Despite what people let on, Techno is a pretty simplistic genre. Massive beat, driving bass and something for the tweeters and that’s about it. However to get it to sound good is anything by simple. What Carlton has done, isn’t so my redefine the wheel, but he’s definitely pimped it up a bit.

From the minimal electro intro to the dub influences and the massive squelchy 303 torturing solo about three quarters though, Record takes the major influences from the last few years and distils it down into just over six minutes of sheer pleasure!

What do you know, it’s the weekend!
